Growing a nonprofit's digital presence through strategic storytelling and content systems.
I was first introduced to HOBY as a sophomore after being selected from my graduating class of 472 to attend its Northern California leadership seminar—an experience that fundamentally shaped my perspective on leadership and community. Years later, I returned as a member of the Media Team to help create that same experience for future students. Because HOBY Northern California serves students across a large geographic region and competes with neighboring regions for enrollment, maintaining a strong digital presence is essential for recruitment and community engagement. Beyond documenting the seminar through photography, I helped redesign the Media Committee's outreach process by creating a more structured system for communications, marketing, and content creation. By producing real-time visual content and organizing a more scalable social media workflow, our team increased Instagram profile visits by 70% and grew our follower count by 32% in just three days, demonstrating the impact of intentional storytelling and coordinated digital workflows.
