rebuilding virtual workspaces with students in mind.
I joined Pencil Spaces as Luna AI was taking its first steps from idea to product. Within my first week, I was working directly with beta testers and conducting QA testing, using their feedback to identify pain points and prioritize features and improvements. One challenge quickly stood out: although Luna was designed for younger students, they struggled to stay engaged with the experience, while the interface provided little feedback to show when Luna was listening or responding. Through competitive analysis, I found that many educational products used mascots, visual feedback, and playful interactions to make learning feel more engaging and personal, especially for younger users. These insights helped shape Luna into a friendlier AI learning companion, from its name and visual identity to its voice and responsive waveforms. I also helped develop a parent portal with session histories, summaries, and learning insights, wrote PRDs, contributed to the website and onboarding experience, and collaborated with testers, engineers, designers, product leads, and leadership throughout development and beta launch. Alongside my work on Luna, I supported Pencil Spaces more broadly through content creation, social media, and growth initiatives. I led an effort to list Pencil Spaces across 70+ SaaS review platforms, helping expand the company's online presence and build greater visibility and trust with prospective users.
